South Jones Boulevard is a small, residential street in Henderson, Nevada. Originally named after the area’s first postmaster and founder of the town of South Las Vegas (John J. Jones), this road was renamed to South Jones Boulevard by Clark County officials in honor of James B. “Jimmy” Jones, Jr., who served as county commissioner from 1960 until his death in 1967.

South Jones Boulevard is located on the west side of Las Vegas Valley and runs for about two miles (3 km) from Ann Road to Carey Avenue and then turns southward until it ends at Elkhorn Road near Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Jones had originally planned to name it “Las Vegas Boulevard” but changed his mind at the last minute calling it “South Jones Boulevard” instead because he wanted to give more prominence to his name. The street was finally named “Fremont Street” after General John Fremont who headed the military expedition to Las Vegas in 1843.
